Personality and Social Psychology
Welcome!Welcome to my personal homepage. My name is Andreas Nehrlich, I am currently a Ph.D. student at the Humboldt-Universitšt zu Berlin (Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany). On this website, you will find some information about me.
As personality and social psychologists, we are interested in how people differ from one another and how they interact within the social world. I am happy to be part of the lab of Jochen Gebauer (homepage). In our lab, we are particularly interested in people's self-concepts, that is, the way people form, maintain, protect and act out representations of their own person. As an example, we are particularly interested in the personality dimension of narcissism, since narcissists are people who try to maintain an unrealistically grandiose self-concept. We wonder why narcissists are charming, fun and energetic on the one hand, but also dominant, exploitative and aggressive on the other hand. With our research, we try to contribute to better understanding these and other puzzles of the human psyche.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions (mail). You may also take part in one of our current studies (studies).
